Bad News Good News

Hi Everyone it's me Barry. I've got some bad news and I've got some good news. First the bad news to get that out of the way. The Tropicana Resort and Casino has decided not to have rotating headliners in their theatre. Then David called me to tell me that the Tropicana had already booked someone for New Years Eve December 30 and 31, 2018. That's before the booked me into their theatre. Yes I'm pretty bummed about this. I still want to play Atlantic City for New Years Eve 2018. Now for the good news. David's been looking into me playing another resort/casino in Atlantic City. Well he found me somewhere else to play this New Years Eve. There use to be a resort/casino along the boardwalk called the Revel. The Revel folded up in two thousand fourteen. . It was brought by some guy from Florida. But his ides never came to fruition. The property was finally bought by a company called Integrated Properties. Integrated Properties has chosen to name the resort/Casino Ocean Resort and Casino. Ocean's Resort and Casino is set to open in June or July of two thousand eighteen. The wife of one of the guys of Integrated Properties is a huge fan of mine. When she heard her husband was thinking about having me do some shows. She told her husband that he had to sign me up for at least two weeks worth of shows. So I'm going to do two weeks at the end of this year two thousand  and eighteen. I'll be at their five thousand seven hundred seat theatre from Sunday December twenty third two thousand eighteen thru January fifth two thousand nineteen.. Now I don't know what their theatre is being called. When it was the Revel the theatre was called the Ovation Theatre. Tickets for the two weeks at the Ocean Resort and Casino will go on sale at the end of March. When I know I'll let you know exactly what day the tickets will go on sale.

Headed To San Antonio

Barry took a cab to Penn Central train station at eleven am. He was leaving New York City for New Orleans on Amtrak's Crescent train. His train would leave at two fifteen pm. Barry would then get into New Orleans on Tuesday at seven thirty two pm. Barry was staying over for one night. After he got to his hotel he went out for dinner. He also stopped at Café Du Monde for some Beigents to go. He would eat them on the train for breakfast on Wednesday. Wednesday morning Barry was going to get on the Sunset Limited at nine am headed for San Antonio Texas. The Sunset Limited would make it into San Antonio at five minutes after twelve pm. Bruce and Jack were going to meet Barry's train. Jack asked Bruce why does Barry take the train when he can fly? Bruce said when Barry not in a rush he loves to take the train. When you fly all you see out the window is clouds, sun and very small stuff on the ground. When you go by rail you look out the window and see the gorgeous scenery. Just like in two thousand fifteen when Barry, his band and backup singers use tour buses for his tour . Barry has mentioned he's love to do that again. Use tour buses to travel from concert to concert. Tour buses are what most of country artists use when they go on tour said Bruce. Barry's train pulled into the San Antonio Amtrak station exactly on time. Bruce told Barry that Jack wonder why he took the train to get here. I told Jack why you came by train said Bruce. I also told him about the tour buses. Speaking of tour buses I 'm going to use them again in two thousand nineteen when I go on my Paradise Café II Tour said Barry. Bruce and Jack took Barry to get his rental vehicle. Once there Barry got his SUV he took off for the house David had rented for him. Barry went inside to unpack. Then he went back out and got into his rented SUV to go to the supermarket near by. Barry was in the mood for some Chinese stir fry. He was also going to stop at the States Store which sold liquor, wine and ETC. He got a couple of  bottles of great wines and some ale. He headed home to put the groceries, wine and ale away. Then he called Carly to tell her he made it safely to San Antonio. David called me on the train down here to tell me the Tropicana is choosing not to have rotating headliners. My New Years Eve shows have been canceled there. So now I have to find somewhere else to preform on New Years Eve  said Barry.  Luckily I hadn't announced the sale of tickets yet. The Cort Theatre's three month Broadway run is still on the schedule. The Cort Theatre people asked me to do a third month at their theatre due to popular demand typed Barry. In two thousand nineteen I've decided to go on another summer road trip and play the outdoor venues. Just like I did last year said Barry. I still have the list of outdoor venues I played last summer. Plus I'm adding some outdoor venues in Canada. Edmonton The Brick Field 33,234, Manitoba Investors Group Field 40,000, Regina Mosaic Stadium 33, 350 and Toronto Budweiser Stage 16,000. Over on my Google Plus page I posted a question about where we should have our BMIFC two thousand nineteen convention. I also put up all the cities I intend to do concerts in. Denver has been marked off since we had a convention there last year. I am doing five nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, four nights at The Greek Theatre and two nights at the Aloha Stadium in Halawa neighborhood of Honolulu Hawaii. After you fans give me a list of cities. I'll post the list so you can vote for where you want next years convention to be said Barry. It has to be in one of the cities I'm preforming in next year. Remember The First Barry Manilow Convention in Toronto in nineteen eighty five. I played Kingswood outdoor venue. The Manilow Memphis Convention in Memphis in nineteen ninety seven  In Memphis I played two nights at Mud Island said Barry since it seats only five thousand people total. Denver BMIFC Convention in two thousand seventeen. Most all the outdoor concerts are one night only. Except for Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre and Aloha Stadium which are more than one night only. Shirley is telling her group that I'm going to preform at the Westgate Resort and casino. That's not going to happen ever. I do know that Brian Murphy was suppose to do the Westgate Resort and Casino this year. But so far he hasn't announced any dates for the Westgate said Barry. So far it's two nights in Mexico City, two nights in Vienna Virginia,  three nights in London and one night in Manchester. Carly thinks either he's being quite or else he's on vacation somewhere down the road. Sorry for the pun said Barry. Davis thinks that Brian's having a nip here and tuck there. Brian's had loads of plastic surgery. The only plastic surgery I've ever had if you want to call it that was to my nose. Years ago I got up in the middle of the night to use my bathroom and I went the wrong way. I must have thought I was at the house in Palm Springs. When in reality I was at my Malibu beach house. I broke my nose and had to have a plastic surgeon re-set it.  Some people must be so vain . As for me I'm not vain I just let nature take it's course said Barry.  Everyone out east please take care. I heard from Carly you fans out east are having a Nor-Easter with high winds, rain and snow. By the way thanks for all your suggestions everyone. I have a journal that I write all your suggestions in. When I used one of your suggestions I put a line through it. So keep those suggestions coming friends.

Senior Moment People?

Hi Everyone. It's me Barry coming at you from San Antonio Texas. Are you fans having a senior moment? I think you having a senior moment. Now my wife Carly didn't. She knew what happened twenty five years ago on Saturday August twenty seventh back in nineteen eighty three.  A very important one night only concert on the grounds of the Duke of Marlboro's palace. It was turned into a VHS tape called The Concert At Blenheim Palace. There was also a documentary. Then later on a DVD that included the concert in it's entirety along with the documentary. Carly said wouldn't it be nice if you could do another concert at Blenheim to commemorate the one twenty five years ago. I thought she's got a super idea. So I decided to contact the Duke's family to ask about doing another one night only concert on the Blenheim palace grounds. Guess what they called me first about me doing another one night only concert on their palace grounds. So on Monday August twenty seven two thousand eighteen I'll be doing my second Concert At Blenheim Palace This is to celebrate the twenty fifth anniversary  of the first Concert at Blenheim Palace. By doing a second concert on the exact same spot. This time I'm hoping more of you fans will be able to come. I'll be opening the show with You're Looking Hot Tonight just like I did twenty five years ago. I've also dusted off my conga drums. That's to open the second half with The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Now "Drums say I'm going on a Target run. What do you need?" Then I'm bringing my safari jacket out of the moth balls. It will definitely get a good cleaning before I wear it. Can't forget Some Kind Of Friend so you can follow  my bouncing tush  Or taking you back to NYC to do a little New York City Rhythm and No Other Love. Of course  I'll do It's A Miracle and One Voice with a chorus. 'll definitely have some surprises for all of you fans who come. Tickets for this one night only concert on the Blenheim Palace grounds will go sale Friday March ninth at one PM eastern time. That's one eastern, twelve central, eleven mountain and ten pacific.

Great News Barry Buddies.

Great news Barry Buddies. I've been asked by the Cort Theatre people if I would extend my Cort Theatre run through the end of November. I said yes to them. David did let them know about the Thursday November fifteen 2:00AM Paradise Café album debut concert. Other then the four Mondays that Broadway is dark and the night of my album debut. I will on the Cort Theatre stage doing my Paradise Café shows in  November. That's a total of  twenty five more concerts. Twenty six in September, twenty six in October and twenty five in November for a grand total of seventy seven shows. Tickets for the November shows are on sale right now. I'll be on the June 2018 cover of GQ magazine. I only said I'd do the magazine under one condition. The one condition is the entire GQ magazine deals with me, my family and friends. That the cover would be me on stage at the piano which  it is. I will be introducing your to my songwriting partner Bruce Sussman. My co-producer Eddie Arkin. Eddie's been my co-producer since my Swing Street album that came out in nineteen eighty six. Calling Dr. Carly Manilow DVM. Meet our fur babies Maggie yellow Labrador Retriever age six and Max age four.  Thunder was a male Labrador Retriever that Brooklyn Pet Care was a puppy raiser for. Thunder went back to America's Vet Dogs. Thunder was placed with a veteran named Charlie Fordham. Charlie has PTSD so Thunder will be a great comfort to him. Now the staff at Brooklyn Pet Care found a basset hound puppy their garbage dumpster inside a cardboard box. Carly went outside to throw out the garbage bag when she heard a little whimper coming out of a box inside their dumpster. She ran and got Dr. Jeff who jumped into the dumpster. He found the closed up cardboard box handed it to Carly. She took the cardboard box inside then she  used a knife to split the duck tape and open the cardboard box. Inside was a little Basset Hound puppy. He got checked out, Dr. Jeff Houston adopted him. Dr. Jeff named him Fred after the Fred The Basset Hound comic strip.
So that's how Fred got his name. Got to go do some stuff.

Text Message

Carly got a text message from her Barry Buddy Rita. Rita mentioned that Brian Murphy announced on his Facebook page that he was doing Wolf Trap in Vienna Virginia for two nights Friday June 8th and Saturday June 9th. Fans who like Shirley's Facebook page were wondering what happened to Las Vegas. Brian Murphy was supposedly going to announce Las Vegas real soon. That was something the Review Journal's Katz posted in his entertainment column. Brain said he wanted to go back to Las Vegas. I just got a text message from Rita Carly told Barry.  Rita said Brian Murphy is doing Wolf Trap in Vienna Virginia in June for two nights. That's Friday June eighth and Saturday June  ninth.
Fans over at Shirley's Facebook page for you were wondering why Brian Murphy hadn't announced his Westgate dates yet. Some of your fans are also Brian Murphy fans. That's why those fans over on Shirley's Facebook page are wondering why Brian hasn't announced Las Vegas yet. Rita did check
a ticket site that  has tickets on sale for Westgate shows. They have shows on sale for Clint Holmes and Earl Turner, Dirk Arthur and Sexy. But nothing for Brian Murphy and Dee Snyder's musical.  Who knows why Brian Murphy hasn't announced his Westgate run yet. Barry and Carly were met at the Portland Amtrak train station by Garry and Denise.  Garry and Denise took Barry and Carly to their house. Now tomorrow afternoon we're going to a Portland winery for a wine tasting said Garry. Now that sounds fine to me said Barry. Once they got to Garry and Denise's house Garry showed them to the guest bedroom. Barry brought with him the DVD of him on stage with Tears For Fears singing their song Shout with them. He actually made Garry a copy of the original video tape. Next week I'll have to take you and Carly to my newest venture said Garry.  Now what have you gotten yourself into said Barry. I've started my own Craft Brewery company. It's called GCK American Ale said Garry.   Can we carry this in my 1943 British American Gastro Pub's asked Barry. Garry said sure you can carry it in your gastro pubs.  By the way I'm going to be on the June cover issue of GQ said Barry. I know my fans have been wanting me on the cover of GQ for a longtime.  I just sent  Cyndi Lauper's Joni Mitchell album to the mastering studios. Cyndi and I did two duets on the album. Chelsea Morning and River said Barry. By the way David Taylor has gotten me a two month run on Broadway at the Cort Theatre for September and October. Carly heard from her Barry Buddy Abby that Brian Murphy wanted to do another Broadway run. He one in nineteen seventy six/nineteen seventy seven at the Uris Theatre and in two thousand thirteen at the St. James. I've only done one stint on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre. I was there with my Barry Manilow Live On Broadway show from April eighteen to June tenth nineteen eighty nine. I did a total of forty six shows. Barry got a call from David. He told Barry that the Cort Theatre wanted to extend his run through the end of November. Barry got off the phone with David. With my Cort Theatre shows I was doing a total of fifty shows in September and October. That was David who just called the Cort Theatre just asked David if I would extend my run through November thirtieth. I told David yes. He then said he would tell them about my 2:00AM Paradise Café II album debut at the Rose Theatre on Thursday November fifteenth. September twenty six shows plus  October twenty six shows plus November twenty five shows equals seventy seven shows total so far. When I get back I'll have to announce the November dates at the Cort Theatre said Barry. Barry and Carly left on Saturday to come back to New York City. Barry would home for a week before he headed down to San Antonio Texas.

It's me Barry again with some photos to share with you. Photo one is the Cort Theatre with the marquee that has my Barry Manilow's Paradise Café logo on it. Below it is the description of my show. I started out back in nineteen eighty four as a jazz artist with the release of my first jazz album called 2:00AM Paradise Café. It has been a wonderful ride for the last thirty four years. And I have enjoyed every minute of this incredible ride that I've been on. It's all thanks to you my dear ones. Here to more incredible rides for all of us to come.

Tropicana Schedule 20189 and 2019.

Hi Fans
It's men coming at you from the rails. Yes I said rails. Today is Wednesday January 31st. I am on Amtrak's Empire Builder headed towards Portland Oregon. Me and Carly got an invite to spend some time with Garry and Denise. So while I'm on two weeks of much needed vacation. I'm giving you all the schedule for this year and next years Tropicana dates. As you can see it's two weeks in December two thousand eighteen. Three weeks in February, June and October of two thousand nineteen. If you go over top my Facebook page and go into the Convention/Parties section you will see all the latest information for this years Party Weekend in Atlantic City at the Tropicana. That's New Years Eve weekend. Friday December twenty eighth through Monday December thirty first. The Tropicana is where I'm kicking off my Paradise Tour II in December. The stage sets will be an intimate New York Jazz club called the Paradise Café. Dean Lighting Company is creating my Paradise Café night club sign. With this tour I'm going back to my roots which is being a jazz artist. That's how my career started as a jazz artist back in nineteen eighty four. Nineteen eighty four was the year I put out my 2:00AM Paradise Café jazz album. During the show's we'll be doing songs from 2:00AM Paradise Café, Swing Street, Singing With The Big Bands and 2:00AM Paradise Café II. Along with taking a few of my contemporary songs that I have given them them a jazz feel. Kion and I worked on a duet to Big City Blues. That's the song I did with The Velvet Fog Mel Torme'. Then Shelly and I will duet on the song Blue. I did that song as a duet with Sarah Vaughan. Then on my Big Fun On Swing Street special I did that song with Carmen McRae. Then Billy, Kion and Me will be a trio on the song Hey Mambo. That song I did with Kid Creole and the Coconuts on  the Swing Street album. Kid Creole and the Coconuts were also on my Big Fun On Swing Street special. Along with Gerry Mulligan, Dana Robbins, Stanley Clark, Carmen McRae and Phyllis Hyman. I'm thinking about doing a 2:00AM Paradise Café television special for this coming fall. Take care everyone.
