Google+ Post 2018 Schedule Revision

Hi Gang It's me Barry once again. There's been a revision in next years 2018 schedule.  Some new things have been added. January Benefit Anti Bulling concert with other artists at O2 London. Book
signing for Williamsburg autobiography in some cities through the UK. . Williamsburg Tour two nights at the O2. June  album and book signing for Williamsburg album and signing for Williamsburg autobiography. Signing albums and books in all the Australian and New Zealand cities I'm doing concerts in.  Last year while I was doing five nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater the Saturday and Sunday night concerts were going to be audio and video taped for a four disc box set containing two CD's and two DVD's. However my sound guy Ken Newman had  emergency gallbladder surgery. So we canceled the tapings. I still want to do the audio and video taping. So next August I'm doing two nights at the Ravinia Festival. That's Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th. Tickets for those two concerts will go on sale in January. More later on the exact date the tickets will go sale.
 As for 2019 I some ideas for things I want to do. One is a duets album. I can hear the peanut gallery groaning right now. A duets album Barry are you nuts? No I'm not nuts. Right now I'm writing songs with some of my favorite female singer songwriters. Alanis Morrissette, Alicia Keys, Bonnie Raitt, Carol King, Corinne Bailey Rae, Cyndi Lauper, Gwen Stefani, Joni Mitchell, K.D. Lang, Lisa Loeb, Melissa Manchester, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow and Tracy Chapman are the songwriters I'm writing with. I may also do some concerts in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Iceland and Greenland. Now the really big news for 2019 Harmony is being turned into a movie musical. Yes you heard me. Harmony is coming to the big screen in early 2020. Now Bruce
Sussman and me are writing a few more songs for our musical Harmony. So starting in September  2019 Bruce and are headed off to Berlin Germany for the start of  filming. The location shoots for the movie will be Berlin Germany, London England, New York New York and Hollywood California. Bruce and I are over the moon about this. Never did either one of us think that Harmony would ever become a movie musical for the big screen. When I told Garry about this he said "Oscars here comes Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman. Harmony definitely Oscar worthy." We shall see Garry. I'm not holing my breath neither is Bruce. The rest of my partners Adrienne, Enoch, Jack and Marty are so thrilled for me and Bruce. Once Harmony is finished there will be two premier opening nights. One will take place in New York City and the other in Berlin Germany. Bruce and I are inviting The Comedian Harmonists relatives to both premiers. All of them came to New York City when Harmony opened on Broadway back in 2006. They loved our musical. Let me get going. Road trip Hurricane Irma Benefit concerts. See you somewhere down the road in the cities we're performing in.

Hi Gang it's me Barry with some exiting news. As most of you remember last June during the five nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater. I was going to audio and video tape both Saturday July 8th and Sunday July 9th for a four disc box set. Two CD's and two DVD's. Now my usual audio guy Ken Newman had emergency gallbladder surgery. So I had to cancel the audio and video recording of the Saturday and Sunday shows. Now I still want to record my Williamsburg Tour for a four disc CD and DVD box set. Something I also want to do is to go back to the Ravinia Festival. The last time I was there was 29 years ago in 1990 when I brought my Showstoppers Tour to Chicago for two nights on Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th. So next year 2019 I'm going back to the Ravinia Festival for two nights Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th. Tickets for these concerts  will go on sale come Monday October 30th at 10AM eastern time. Both of these two concerts will be audio and video recorded for a four disc box set. Two CD's and two DVD's. Tickets start at $150. Hope to see you fans there.

Hi Gang It's me Barry. Time for another Ask Barry? Q&A session.
Mary Anne Morbly asks What singer, duo or group would you love to record a song with?
Barry Next year I'm doing a concert with a bunch of other recording artists to benefit the anti bulling campaign "Say No To Bulling." The benefit concert will take place on Saturday January 6, 2018 at London's O2 arena. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is going to be on stage performing with all of us artists. A bunch of us recording got to pick other artists we wanted to perform on stage with. Like Sir. Paul McCartney gets to perform with U2 on the Beatle's tune Hey Jude. I'm on stage with Cyndi Lauper and we're doing a duet on her song True Colors. K.T. Tunstall is doing a duet with Tears For Fears on their song Shout. Bruno Mars and Sr. Elton John on Your Song. Also other artists doing duets with their favorite recording artists. At the end of the two hour concert all of us will come out on stage to sing John Lennon's Imagine. I get the honor of playing piano during that song. The entire concert is being recorded live for the album called I Am Somebody. Yes I Am Somebody Not A Nobody and I have feelings too.  Cyndi Lauper and I are one day going to record an album together. We met on my Live By Request Christmas Special years back. We've been friends ever since. I think her pink hair is kind of cool.

Susan Schaefer asks Is there anywhere you haven't performed that you'd like to?
Barry I recently got a letter from a fan named Ineke who lives in Reykjavik Iceland. Ineke asked if I was ever going to come to Reykjavik Iceland? I sent Ineke a personal letter telling her that I was actually looking into performing in Reykjavik Iceland. Also some other Canadian Provinces. Such has Halifax Nova Scotia, Fredericton New Brunswick, Charlottetown Prince Edward Island and St. John New Brunswick. Also Nuuk Greenland and Reykjavik Iceland. I told her that when I did the concerts in these places it would be during the summer of 2019. I sent Ineke an autographed vinyl copy of my latest album Williamsburg. With that I also sent her two tickets to my One Night Only Williamsburg Benefit concert at the Barclay Center on Sunday December 10th. The concert benefits Charlie's Rescue, The Manilow Music Project and The One Voice Foundation. I figured she might want to bring a Barry Buddy with her to see the show.

Patty Lane asks What kind of album can we expect from you in the near future?
Barry I want to do an original duets album. I want to do duets with Alanis Morrissette, Alicia Keys,
Cyndi Lauper, Carol King, Melissa Manchester, Corinne Bailey Rae and Gwen Stefani. All of these ladies are great songwriters. So I love to write a song with each one of them. I have my Putting It Together The Songs of Stephen Sondheim album. I did a duet on Somewhere with Cyndi Lauper. Some reporter asked me why I didn't do the duet with Barbra Streisand. I told him Brian Murphy is friends with her not me. There is also my Only In Chicago album that's half finished. One thing that
I want to do is to play the Ravinia Festival again. Next year 2018 I'm doing two nights at the Ravinia festival. The dates are Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th. The last time I played at the Ravinia Festival was in 1990 on Tuesday August 28th and Wednesday August 29th 1990. That was 29 years when I brought my Showstoppers Tour to Ravinia. Both nights will be recorded live for the Williamsburg Tour Live four disc box set. Two disc live album and two disc DVD's. This year while I played Red Rocks Amphitheater I wanted to audio and video tape the two weekend shows. Saturday July 8th and Sunday July 9th. However my usual recording engineer Ken Newman had to have emergency gallbladder surgery then. So I had to cancel the recording equipment that was going to be used at Red Rocks Amphitheater to record the those two shows for the four disc Williamsburg Tour Live Album and DVD box set. Welcome to 1943 British American gastro pub my new gastro pub in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. 1943 is a British and American gastro pub that serve gastro pub grub. 1943 is located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Above is what the sign above the front door looks like. Now1943 serves British and American gastro pub grub. Most of the time there are two cooks at 1943 Michael Reilly and Dennis Harmon. Michael is from the UK and he cooks the British gastro pub grub. Dennis is an American cook who makes all the American gastro pub grub. Michael and Dennis
are 1943's regular cooks. We serve British and American ales and micro brews. What we do not serve domestic American beers. Like Budweiser, Coors, Michelob. Samuel Addams and ETC. Brooklyn Lager from Brooklyn Brewery in Brooklyn NY is the only domestic US bear we sell. Once in a while you might find me in the kitchen cooking up some of the gastro pub grub. The Latest News

Ok! Here's all the latest news on the Brian and Barry. Brian was in  the recording studio to record My Dream Duets II. His second duets album. Brian would be singing with living artists this time around. Another one of Clive Davis' ideas no doubt. Brian was recording for RCA Records now. He was also getting ready to do his Gift Of Love IV concerts at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Springs. Then his three holiday concerts in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York in December. Next year Wednesday January 25th and Thursday January 26th Mexico City show. Then also nest year South American and Asia .  Possibly more shows at Los Angeles Forum, Chicago Allstate Arena and Nassau Coliseum. Then February, March and April three weeks worth of weekend shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Westgate Hotel and Casino.  On Saturday October 21st Barry filled another thing off his bucket list. By opening his British American gastro pub called 1943. November was concerts for hurricane relief  in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.  One weeks worth of benefit concert at Radio City Music Hall in December benefiting Charlie's Rescue, The Manilow Music Project and The One Voice Foundation. December 30th and December 31st would be spent in Montreal Canada doing two concerts at Centere Bell. BMIFC New Years Party Weekend Friday December 29th, Saturday December 30th and Sunday December 31st. January 2018 for Barry Manilow's Williamsburg autobiography. Two Williamsburg Tour concerts at London's O2.  At The Mayflower regional runs. March and April San Antonio Majestic Theatre. September and  
October Philadelphia Forrest Theatre. Williamsburg Tour down under in  June 2018  Australia and New Zealand. BMIFC's first ever convention down under in Melbourne Australia. London England  two weeks 1worth of concerts from Sunday December 23, 2018 thru Saturday January 5, 2019. With Sunday December 23, 2018  concert being a benefit for The Prince's Trust Fund. So far 2019 has promised to be filled with a new original material album and fall album signing and tour to promote it. Also fingers crossed At The Mayflower opening on Broadway. Because of the passing of Joseph Bologna. Instead of Esther passing away Joe will have passed away. The song I Miss You will be Esther singing about missing her husband Joe instead of Joe singing about missing Esther.

Hi Gang It's me Barry and I'm resurrecting my Ask Barry? column once again. Todays questions are from Vicki Smith, Kathy Rooney Henry, Janice Primavara, Pamela Height and Rita Zucker.
Vicki asks
Barry I know you run every other day. What brand of running shoes do you wear?
Barry Well Vicki  I did wear Nike brand for a short while. However they bothered my feet a lot. So I went back to wearing Adidas brand running shoes. I have three pairs of Adidas running shoes right now. I have Adidas Galaxy Elite  blue and white. Adidas Ultra Boost aqua, blue and orange. Adidas Ultra Boost ST. Grey and Navy. Most running shoes are only good for six to seven months of running. However they're still good for bicycling, mowing the lawn, walking and wearing around the house.  Now that's how I keep my 6'0" 165lbs frame in such great shape. Oh and BW my shoe size is 13D.

What other types of exercise do you do besides running? 
Barry Besides running I like to go bicycling, mountain biking, swimming and walking  Now I'm sure you want to know what kinds of bicycles I have. I have a Rocky Mountain Altitude carbon mountain bicycle. That one's purple, blue, gold with black tires. My other bicycle is a Cylo One Urban bicycle. That one's black with white tires. Yes Barry goes mountain biking. I'm sure someone started freaking out when I mentioned mountain biking. Now this past summer while I was on tour I packed my mountain bike onto one of trailer trucks. On free days that's what I did I went mountain biking when we were near any mountains. I did do that after my five night run at Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver. I took my mountain bike and I did mountain biking up around Red Rocks. The scenery up there is breathtaking.  I've also gone mountain biking up in Aspen with my friend John Denver.

Is there anything that we don't know about you that might surprise us?
Barry Most of you know that I got my bachelors, masters and doctorate from Julliard Music School. I triple majored in arranging, conducting and orchestration. My minor was piano. Then what most of you know is I am a good cook. I had to learn to cook after I divorced Susan. A man can't continually go out to eat. Or eat caned and frozen food all the time. I taught myself how to cook. I some of my grandmothers recipes. Like her roast chicken,  pot roast, all of her cookie recipes and some others.  Then in 1992 I took the bull by the horns and decided to go to culinary school. So I enrolled at the CIA. You did what? Barry. You enrolled at the CIA. But the CIA is part of the US government. How could you enroll in the government? I didn't enroll in the government. The CIA is also short for The Culinary Institute of America which is in Hyde Park New York. I graduated in 1997 with a bachelors degree in culinary arts. I was top in my graduating class.  The other thing you fans don't know is I've been working on getting my gastro pub opened called BARRY'S British American Gastro Pub in Williamsburg. It will open on Saturday October 21st. The food is British and American pub fare.

What are some of your favorite cities and states to visit?
Barry some of my favorite states besides New York are Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont. New Hampshire, Michigan, Texas. Colorado, Oregon and Washington. Now my favorite cities beside New York City are East Hampton, Albany, Saratoga Springs, Lake George, Lake Luzerne,  Boston Cape Cod Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Portland ME, Burlington , Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Travers City. Denver, Bolder Aspen, Austin, San Antonio, Portland OR, Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver BC, Toronto OT, Montreal QB, Quebec QB and all of Nova Scotia. I use to like California however it got too celebrity for me.  From San Diego to San Francisco California is loaded with celebs and people who love to finger point. Their pointing fingers at people they think are gay like me. I got a lot of finger pointing at me while I lived in both LA and Palm Springs. Prior to moving out west I never got the finger pointing while living here in NYC.

Who are some of the famous people you've met over the years?
Barry My famous friends are Bette Midler, Alanis Morrisette, Melissa Manchester, Cyndi Lauper, Carole King Annie Lenox, Dave Benoit, Chris Botti, Brian Culbertson, Ray Charles, John Denver, Benny Goodman, Kenny G., Billy Joel, Dave Koz and Richard Marx. After graduating from culinary school I got to meet Anne Burrell, Rachel Ray, Ina Garten, Bobby Flay, Michael Simon and Mario Batali.   I also got my culinary arts degree in 1997 from  The Culinary Institute of America. I was top
in my class. I was married for a year and four months to my first wife. After we got divorced I had to do for myself. Well eating out, eating canned and frozen dinners was not going to cut it. So I had to learn how to cook real meals. Which is what I did after I got recipes from my grandma. My mom thought her son (me) was nuts for going to school to get my culinary arts degree. But I could hear my grandma saying go for it Barry.

It Figures

Yes it figures that Suzie and Scott Nevins would be having a cow. Both of them were very upset with Barry's interview he did for Fox News program OBJECTfied. Why because Barry lied during the one hour program. How did Barry lie well he didn't tell the truth about his sexual orientation. When he was asked about his sexual orientation Barry told Harvey Levin he was straight. Which he was not according to Suzie and Scott Nevins he had always been gay. Suzie said she always knew from the moment she was introduced to Barry that he was gay. Nothing was off limits when it came to topics. Barry told Harvey that he hadn't hid anything from anyone. My mom in fact got asked a lot about me being gay. "Oh come on now be honest. Your son Barry Manilow is gay?" My son Barry is not gay my mom said. Does everyone who is single have to be gay? Edna asked in an interview with People Magazine. In that interview my mom mentioned that my first name was actually Barack which was a Jewish name. She told the People interviewer that her son grew up an orthodox Jew. Both her parents Joseph and Esther were orthodox Jews. Saturday mornings were spent going to synagogue. Which I've been doing since I was a little kid. My mom knew I was way too young to get married when my high school girlfriend Susan and I decided to get married. I was twenty and Susan was nineteen when we got married. The reason we eloped is because our parents were fighting about the wedding. At the time my parents were helping out my mom's parents. They really did have the money to help Susan's parents with their daughters wedding. Susan's parents wanted the big fancy Jewish wedding for their daughter. They figured my parents would help them pay for it. A year and five months after we were married I left Susan. Susan wanted a nine to five husband who stayed home after he got off work. Well that wasn't me I didn't stay home after I got off work from CBS. I went to the Thirteenth Street Theatre to work with Bro Harold and everyone there. I tried to get Susan interested in that. But no such luck. In November of nineteen sixty-five I asked Susan for a divorce. Susan wasn't happy about that at all. In the beginning she wouldn't give me anything. After she calmed down she let me have the rest of the stuff I brought with me when we got married. I ended up moving to a studio apartment in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. The apartment had a partial wall between the sleeping area and living room. In the sleeping area I had a large closet. The kitchen, dining and living were all in one space. The bathroom was a separate room. Later on I moved to the lower eastside and a one bedroom apartment. After that apartment I moved to the west side into a condominium across from Central Park. Then I moved to the west coast. I rented the house with the dancing waters first. Then I bought the house in Bel Air. I did go down to Palm Springs where I rented the Kaufman house. I then bought my own home. Sold that one and bought the one in the Mesa neighborhood. I sold the house in the Mesa to Brian Murphy fourteen years ago. I discovered I was spending more time traveling  between Palm Springs and New York. That is why I sold the house. Suzie and Scott Nevins were not happy I sold the house and moved back east to New York. However I sure was glad I moved back to the east coast. I decided to move back to Brooklyn. The real estate agent I found showed me a bunch of homes in different neighborhoods. But when she showed me the townhouse at 96 1/2 Hicks Street I knew I'd found my forever home in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. It has five floors a garden floor, parlor floor second master floor third floor and fourth floor. The fourth floor was perfect for my new at home recording studio. I have two extra bedrooms on the third floor for guest who come to visit. I could have rented the garden floor out. But I decided not to. I use the living space down there as a family room. After I married Carly the bedroom on garden floor became her computer/ Barry Manilow room.  I've done some renovating. I remodeled the master bathroom. Got rid of the master bathtub and made the shower even bigger. The parlor floor kitchen remodel was just finished. All the rooms have been painted by me and Carly. The deck off the living room was redone. The backyard got a makeover. I put in a small greenhouse for my vegetable garden over in the left back corner of the backyard. I am centrally located to a lot of things a great bagel/coffee shop the subway into Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge so if I can walk across the bridge to Manhattan.Great places close by dog park, parks for people, restaurants, grocery store, shops, fitness club and ETC. So I'm glad I moved back to New York City. Sorry Suzie and Scott Nevins but I am never moving back to Palm Springs. I remember when I still had the beach house in Malibu.. I invited some of my pals for fourth of July weekend 2009.  I invited my pals Garry Kief, Brian Murphy, Gregory Knoffler, Marc Hulett, Andy McKenna, Marty Panzer, Ench Anderson, Bruce Sussman and Rob Shuter. Brian was the one who asked me if he could invite Kye Brackett, Scott Nevins and Rick Travis. I said sure even though I didn't want Scott Nevins there. I told Garry  before everyone arrived that Scott Nevins was way to creepy. In fact he crawled all over me that weekend. Scott loved to go wherever I went. That was even way more creepy to me. That's why my girlfriend Gabby Barrett was uncomfortable being around Scott Nevins. He made sure that he was always super close to me and kept Gabby as far away from me as he could. That's why If you see any photos on Pinterest of three guys on the beach. That's Kye Brackett, Scott Nevins and Brian Murphy.  Brian Murphy is the  skinny toothpick in the black tee shirt and blue jeans. If I had been in those photos taken by the paparazzi you would have seen my legs. I was wearing denim shorts to my knee, a tee shirt and my Adidas athletic shoes that day. At 6'0" and 165lbs I look good in shorts so I can show off my legs. That was how I lost my last LA girlfriend Gabby. Gabby hated being around Scott Nevins. She told me he kept staring at her whenever he was around us giving her an evil look. It was after that weekend that I told Garry that I was going to sell the Malibu beach house. I also told him why I was going to sell it. Garry said he didn't blame me for selling it or for permanently moving back east. When I came back to finish up the paperwork on selling the house. Garry told me Scott Nevins really gave Gabby a hard time. Scott told Gabby that I used her as beard to cover up my homosexuality. Also to cover up the fact that he and I were a couple. Things had quieted down for a while until I started dating Dr. Carly Nichole Simon doctor of veterinary medicine. Once Scott figured Carly and I were serious about each other that's when he went after her. Something I didn't like at all. I let Scott know what I thought of him going after Carly like that. I told Carly how I felt about what Scott Nevins was trying to do to her. Now the only time Carly got scared was when the paramedics showed up at our door.  Said tat they had been called to 96 1/2 Hicks Street. Because of some crazy woman who was disturbing the neighbors. The caller claimed the woman was mental insane and needed to be put into a insane asylum. Scott then said she needs to be locked up for good. Garry follows Scott's blogger account. Garry said he saw in graphic detail what Scott thought should happen to her once she were institutionalized. Garry that what Scott said was something me and Carly didn't need to know about. Garry did give the URL to Scott's blogger account to my attorney Jack McCoy so he could see what Scott posted. I can only guess that what Scott Nevins posted there wasn't something me and Carly didn't need to see.
