Brooklyn Pet Care Veterinary Hospital

Brooklyn Pet Care Veterinary Hospital in Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Sign one is above the door, It is also being used as the clinics business cards. Sign two is hanging from a poll that is attached to the building. The head of the clinic is Dr. Carly Manilow DVM. There are nine other veterinarian's who work there. Dr. Jeff Houston DVM, Dr. Anthony Stern DVM, Dr. Eric Marcus DVM, Dr. Heidi Tanner DVM, Dr. Lincoln Harrison DVM, Dr. Allison Brooks DVM, Dr. Richard Sullivan DVM, Dr. Dana Stephens, DVM and Dr. Chris Martin DVM. There are also eight vet techs and three receptionist. Carly wanted the clinic hours to fit into normal pet owners lives. So whether you worked days afternoons or midnights you can get your pet to  Brooklyn Pet Care Veterinary Hospital for a checkup and ETC. Brooklyn Pet Care hours are Monday thru Friday 8AM to 8PM and Saturday's 8AM to 1PM. There is an emergency number you can call for emergencies. Carly left the zoo because she wanted a change. Also when her beagle Charlie got sick last year she couldn't get him to his regular veterinarian office. Barry was on tour so he couldn't take him. The zoo had five new babies who were about to be born then. All veterinarians on deck to help deliver the new animal babies. So Carly had to be there to help deliver them. Her neighbors couldn't help her either.  Kevin and Allison Stevens were both at work. So was Juan and Sarah Gomez at work. Their regular vet was on vacation. His replacement had an emergency to attend to. Most all the other veterinary hospitals in the area didn't have convent hours. That was the other reason why Carly wanted to start her very own veterinary hospital. She found a large building that she could turn into the veterinary hospital. Carly chose to call it the Brooklyn Pet Care Veterinary Hospital. her right had Dr. Jeff Houston decided to follow her. On opening day they had an open house so people in Brooklyn Heights could come by and checkout the hospital. Carly explained to everyone that were would be ten veterinarians on staff total. Office hours would be 8AM to 8PM Monday to Friday. 8AM to 1PM on Saturdays. Emergency number that you could call to talk to the veterinarians on call. There would be two veterinarians on call after hours Monday thru Saturday and all day and all night on Sunday.

Dogs

Barry and Carly have four dogs now. At the beginning of last year Carly's Beagle Charlie passed away so Barry promised her a dog for her birthday. Their next door neighbors had a pair of rescued Weimaraners. The female had a litter of puppies last June. Barry promised Carly on of the puppies for her birthday present. Carly named the puppy Abbey. Over the summer Barry Labrador Retriever Maggie got sick and died. Carly decided she would get Barry a dog for his birthday. The neighbors still had one of the female left so Carly bought her for Barry.  Barry named his new Bialy. Barry's other dog Max was sort of a rescue. Max was going to be come a seeing eye dog. However he had a health issue that prevented him from becoming one. Barry's friend Lorna heard about him and told Barry about it. Recently another rescue was added to their family Charlie the Golden Retriever. So now there were four dogs in their family. So now they had Max a Labrador Retriever, Abbey and Bialy two Weimaraners and Charlie a Golden Retriever.

What's News?

What's News? Well there was a major snow storm that hit the Midwest and the eastern half of the country. Barry and Carly had left New York at the beginning of March. Barry still wanted a home on the west coast. However he did not want to get another home in Southern California.  Barry basically felt uncomfortable in Palm Springs. He found out from Marc that is was wildly known around town that Barry was gay even though he wasn't. So whenever he went out anywhere guys would look at him. In 2004 Barry decided to sell the hose in the Mesa. The house sold quick since his friend pop singer Brian Murphy wanted to buy it. Luckily Barry had already found the townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. Besides Barry spent to much time flying back and fourth from Palm Springs to New York City. He was very glad he moved back to the east coast. New York City had an energy that Palm  Springs lacked. New York City also fit Barry to a T. Since Barry was always full of energy. Barry figured New York ran throughout his blood. Yet Barry still love California's laidback lifestyle. Just the lifestyle in Southern California. That was why Garry moved up to Northern California. Because he actually hated Southern California with a passion. Since his management company was located in Inglewood that's the only reason he stayed down there. But after he chose to retire that's when he moved up to Northern California and the wine country. Marc thought Garry was going to buy some land to start a vineyard. Get into growing assorted types of grapes to make his own wine. Now the property Garry and Denise bought had vineyards on it. They had a part of the backyard right off the back patio fenced in so they could put up an play set for their grandkids. As well as their brothers and sisters grandkids. Barry asked Carly what she thought of buying a second home in San Francisco. We will be within driving distance to Garry and Denise's and Neil and Adrienne's homes. Then we'll have to invite Enoch and Marty up for a visit. That sounds fine to me Carly said. Barry suggested they go there for a vacation. While there we can look at some homes that are for sale. Meet up with Garry, Denise, Neil and Adrienne for dinner somewhere. Now I want to go by Amtrak said Barry. That would be the Lake Shore Limited to Chicago with a short layover. Then the  California Zephyr to Emeryville. A shuttle bus will take us into downtown San Francisco. Sure why not said Carly.  Oh by the way said Carly some of my friends were complaining about Brian Murphy's three shows only residency. How does doing three shows constitute as a residency? Well Brian could never say no to his fans said Barry. Whenever they starting begging for Brian to come to their city to do a show. What does he do? He goes out on on tour to given them some shows. No wonder he's totally burned out. Where as I know  how to pace my self and take time off. Which is why I never had to say no to my fans since my fans aren't always begging for me to come here and come there. That is why I can still do a two hour concert with a twenty minute intermission. I also saw his fans complaining on his Facebook page about him playing Nassau Coliseum instead of the Barclay Center said Carly. You were able to sign a contract to play the Barclay Center before Brian Murphy did. You know first come first served said Barry. When he decided to do three one night shows I already had the Barclay Center spoken for. I needed to connect with Billy Joel and Kenny G. That's so we could do the jazz version of Billy's song New York State Of Mind. On that song it's both me and Billy playing piano and Kenny G. playing sax. Billy loved my jazz arrangement of his song.  I wanted to put this album out in 2015. However I could never find the time when me, Billy and Kenny could record the song New York State Of Mind. Instead I put out Barry Manilow The New York Pops Orchestra Putting It Together The Songs Of Stephen Sondheim. You fans have been bugging me for another Broadway show tunes album. I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite Broadway songwriter Stephen Sondheim. That came out on two CD's and two vinyl LP's said Barry. Barry and Carly had a wonderful time in San Francisco. They did meet up with Garry, Denise, Adrienne and Neil. Also they got to see Marty as he was in San Francisco on vacation too. Barry, Carly, Garry, Denise, Adrienne, Neil and Marty all went out for Chinese in San Francisco's Chinatown. The restaurant was one Garry and Denise had been to before. I changed jobs said Carly. You mean you're no longer a veterinarian? asked Garry. No I'm still a veterinarian said Carly. I just don't work at the zoo any more. I decided after 34 years of being a zoo veterinarian I go into private practice. Open my own veterinary hospital. I'm calling it Brooklyn Pet Care Veterinary Hospital. Jeff Houston who worked at the zoo with me is also going to work at the hospital. I hired six other veterinarians to work at Brooklyn Pet Care.First thing I did was to check the hours of all the veterinary clinics and hospitals in the area. That was so I could set hours that better benefited Brooklyn Heights pet owners betters. A lot of the veterinary clinics and hospitals in the area don't open till 10AM. So I decided to have hours from 8AM to 8PM Monday thru Friday and 8AM to 1PM on Saturdays. That's to give pet owners in the neighborhood more options. Some people work days, some people work afternoons and some people work midnights. Dr. Ken Andrews our family vet retired at the beginning of this year. So we needed somewhere else to take our dogs to. Now they'll get to see Dr. Jeff Houston.

Hi Gang It's me again Barry your fearless leader. Vikki and I had put together a New Years Eve weekend in Seattle WA. However we found out the venue we were going to use was already booked. So I went looking for somewhere else to have our New Years Eve weekend. I found out the Oracle Arena in Oakland was empty for Saturday December 31st. So  I snatched it up. Then I got the Westin St. Francis Union Square for our fan clubs New Years Eve weekend. The Westin St. Francis Union Square is located at 335 Powell St. We are limiting the number on fans to 1,000.  Our New Years Eve weekend starts on Friday December 29th. Now What

Barry just finished a sold out show in Toronto at Air Canada. He was off until Monday February 6th when he was doing another sold out show this time at the Videotron in Quebec City. Then he had just one more sold out show on Wednesday February 8th at Centre Bell in Montreal. He would be seeing Carly and her BFF's Kathy Rooney Henry and Rita Zucker before the show. Barry was going to take the ladies put to his favorite Montreal restaurant for dinner his treat. Now this month on BTV Barry was putting up something the fans had never seen before. Back in the 1980's Barry got to go on the Calypso with Jacque Cousteau to the Galapagos Islands. Prior to going Barry took diving lesions so he knew how to use diving equipment. Going with Jacques Cousteau is what gave Barry his sense of adventure. It started him on doing some more adventurous things. Like  camping, diving, hiking, mountain biking and ETC. Barry wasn't the one who got motion sickness. That was Brian Murphy who got that way and always wore the beige bans on his wrists. That's what also drew Barry to his wife Carly.  She had such an adventurous sprit. Carly loved to do lots adventurous stuff like biking, camping, diving, hiking and mountain biking. Then there was her love of all kinds of animals. Once Barry got home he was taking a much needed break. His new album My Kind Of Town Chicago Is was being finished. The album was  coming out on April 25th. Barry was doing an album signing at Barnes and Noble on 1130 State Street in Chicago. Also a album debut at the Park West that evening. Barry had talked to Brian Murphy about Brian doing what Billy Joel has been doing since 2014. Billy Joel was established as the forth franchise at Madison Square Garden with the Knicks, Rangers and the Liberty. Instead Brian could do it at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. That way his fans could still see him perform on stage. Since he was tired of being on the road. Barry wasn't ready to give up being on the road just yet. He was also hard at work on his coffee table book called Barry Manilow On The Road In Pictures. Barry wanted to add photos and memories from his surprise arena shows and his summer sheds tour. Barry had heard from Marc that Suzanne was telling everyone how upset I was that Hillary Clinton lost the election. I told Marc that Suzanne must have thought I voted for her. Well my political preference is my business only not everyone else's. I haven't talked to her since 2015 when she told everyone I was gay and I married Garry. Garry is married to his second wife Denise. They moved to Northern California and they live in the Napa Valley area. In fact Garry's runs into Neal and Adrienne Anderson a lot. When I did Matt Sutton's radio program  a fan named Sharon asked why I didn't pass out glow sticks? I  told her I don't pass out glow sticks because I went to a Brian Murphy concert where they passed out glow sticks. His fans were shaking glow sticks during the beginning of his show and one of the glow sticks flew out of a fans had and hit another fan in the head. Carly thinks glow sticks are juvenile. Barry last Canadian concert was another sell out. He surprised the Montreal fans by singing  a song off his new album  My Kind Of  Town Chicago Is. He told them that back in the late 60's one summer Jeannie Lucas got a part in the Pajama Game in Chicago. He went to Chicago with her. He took one class in orchestration that Julliard didn't offer at DePaul University. He also got a job at Henrici's Restaurant and Tap Room in the Merchandise Mart. He went on further to explain that there was a bar around the piano where patrons could sit. The patrons could put money into a brandy snifter then they could ask me to play a song for them. I also played at Mr. Kelly's with Bette Midler when I was her piano player and music director. He gave the fans at Centre Bell three encores. After the last encore Barry left the stage. He had told the girls at dinner to stay put after the show. He said he knew a place that served decadent treats and he would take them there after the show. They do a s'mores fondue that's to die for. You get a burner for toasting marshmallows. Two dishes one with milk chocolate and the other with dark chocolate. Plus a dish of graham crackers. So off they went after the show for the decadent treat. While we waited for you some fans told us they heard a radio interview that Suzanne did. They said
she told the host that you missed living in Palm Springs and hanging out with all your gay friends. I moved back east because I spent more time here than I did out there. It was a waste for me to fly back and forth all the time. Besides I'm closer to all the action that happens here in New York. I still have everything I need here in New York. I have a floor dedicated to my at home office and recording studio. The dogs have a decent back yard to run in. I'm not that far from the nearest dog park where the dog can really run around. There are many great restaurants to eat at. None of us who use to live in Palm Springs live there any more. Garry and Denise Kief live in Santa Rosa California. Which is north of San Francisco. Marc  Hulett and Andrew Stevens live in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York. As for my songwriting partners. Adrienne Anderson lives in Mill Valley California. Enoch Anderson lives in Malibu California. Marty Panzer lives in Sherman Oaks California. Bruce lives in Tribeca Manhattan NY. Jack Feldman lives in Pelham Gardens Bronx NY. In fact Pelham Gardens is the neighborhood that Carly grew up in. Carly told me when there was no snow on the ground her dad road his bicycle to work.  I  just found out that Stiletto Entertainment is adding an east coast office. Kristen Kief asked Marc to take over the New York City office.  Marc asked David Taylor to take over as my manager. Marc said I need to find myself a new personal assistant which I just did.  My new assistant is Eric Bernstein. Eric use to be jazz artist Matt Hicks' personal assistant until Matt
decided to retire from  the road.
